'Corporal
Punishment in Chennai Schools'
[By: Ms. Tashi Yangzom Bhutia, Manitham] |
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Students will listen, obey
and co-operate with the teachers even if non-corporal means of punishment - By:
Ms. Tashi Yangzom Bhutia, Manitham
No
doubt, corporal punishment has been banned by the government and many government
schools received instruction not to use any corporal punishment. Some schools
still use it. I like interviewed more than forty students (standard VI to XII )
from various schools around Chennai and a majority of students feel that they do
not want any form of corporal punishment to be given to them instead they
impositions advice, counseling and other lenient form of punishment. And
majority of them also say that they will listen obey and co-operate with the
teachers even if non-corporal means of punishment are enforced. |
